Hot and Spicy Dilis (Anchovies)

Looking for easy appetizer or “pulutan”? This Hot and Spicy Dilis is definitely in for a try. Although you can see this being sold as a street, you can surely make your own version at home. Where in you can adjust the taste and add more spice to it if you want to.

Here’s how to make Hot and Spicy Dilis (Anchovies):

Ingredients:

200g Dried Dilis (Anchovies)
1/2 cup Hot Sauce
1/2 cup Vinegar
1 tbsp. Ketchup
1 tbsp. Chili Powder
1 tbsp. Paprika Powder
1 tbsp. Brown Sugar
Sesame Seeds
Salt
Pepper
Vegetable Oil

Process:

1. Heat some vegetable oil in a pan. Toss the dilis and cook until brown. Remove from the pan and set aside.

2. On the same pan, pour in the remaining ingredients. Vinegar, hot sauce, ketchup, chili powder, paprika powder and brown sugar. Season with salt and pepper.

3. When the sauce starts to thicken, pour back in the dilis and cook until all the dilis are properly coated. Sprinkle some sesame seeds.

Ready and Serve!
