Minatamis na Saging with Sago

Minatamis na Saging with Sago

Here’s one Filipino dessert that you might want to try at home. Just like your minatamis na saging, but this time we will be adding big sago or tapioca pearls for added texture. For sure, your kids will love this.

Here’s how to cook Minatamis na Saging with Sago:

Ingredients:

1 cup Big Sago / Tapioca Pearls
6 pcs Banana Saba (sliced into two)
1 cup Muscovado Sugar
1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
Water

Process:

  1. Pour in a good amount of water in a pot. Bring it boil. When it starts to boil rapidly, drop the tapioca pearls. Cook for about 45 minutes to an hour. Set aside.
  2. On the same pot, add in the bananas. Then pour in about a cup of water. Bring it boil.
  3. Pour in the muscovado sugar. Cover and let it cook for about 20 minutes.
  4. Lastly, pour in tha vanilla. Cook the banana and sago for another 5 minutes or until the sugar starts to caramelized.

Enjoy!

Note from Delish PH:

For this one, you can also use fresh pandan leaves if you have it instead of using vanilla extract. And I used muscovado sugar because it’s darker and sweeter than brown sugar.
