Spicy Tomato Garlic Shrimp

You might one of those who love garlic buttered shrimp, and this is one version that you’d definitely want to give try.

Imagine that spicy tomato taste added to your favorite shrimp recipe. Adding paprika and chili flakes will give that hot kick. If you want it a bit sweet, you can use banana ketchup instead of tomato.

Ingredients:

500g of Shrimp
1 1/2 cups Tomato Sauce
1 big sized onion (chopped)
2 medium sized tomatoes (diced)
5 cloves of garlic (minced)
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 tsp paprika powder
1 lemon
1 tsp brown sugar
1 tbsp dried chili flakes
1 stalk of spring/green onions (chopped)
salt
pepper

Process:

1. Heat butter in a pan.
2. Add onion first.
3. Add in tomatoes.
4. Add in garlic.
5. Pour in the tomato sauce.
6. Add in all the other seasoning, chili flakes, paprika and brown sugar, lemon zest and squeeze some lemon juice

Spicy Tomato Garlic Shrimp
7. Simmer for about 5 minutes
8. Pour in the shrimp and cook for about 10 minutes
9. Garnish with green onions

How about try this shrimp recipe with tomato sauce? This is not the usual buttered garlic shrimp recipe that you normally see. Tomato sauce gave this recipe that soury-kick. Using tomato sauce also makes this recipe healthy and good for “heart”.
