How to Make Yema Cake

It’s time for you to learn the most popular cake in town. The yema cake. Making yema cake requires more effort and time, yet it’s absolutely worth it. The cake is delicious and surely, your family will love it. This can also be a great business option.

Here’s how to make Yema Cake:

Ingredients:

Flour Mixture:

2.5 cups Cake Flour
3 tsp. Baking Powder
1 tsp. Iodized Salt
1/2 cup White Sugar

Egg Yolk Mixture:

6 pcs. Egg Yolks
1 cup Evaporated Milk
1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
2 tsp. Lemon Extract
1/2 cup Vegetable Oil

Egg White Mixture:

6 pcs. Egg Whites
1 cup White Sugar
1/4 tsp. Cream of Tartar

Yema Frosting Mixture:

1 can Condensed Milk (390g)
6 pcs. Egg Yolks
1 cup Evaporated Milk
1 tsp. Lemon Extract
50g Butter

Topping:

Grated Cheese

Process:

  1. Prepare the flour mixture in a bowl. Sift all the ingredients. Set aside.
  2. Prepare the egg yolk mixture in a bowl. Whisk slowly until properly combined. Set aside.
  3. In a much bigger bowl, prepare the egg white mixture. Put the egg whites first, then use an electric mixer until the egg becomes foamy. Add in the cream of tartar and gradually add the white sugar.
  4. Combine in the egg yolk mixture and the flour mixture. Use a spatula to mix and fold.
  5. Grease the Masflex Baking Pan with butter. Pour in the cake mixture. Bake for about 30-40 minutes in a pre-heated oven of 175 C.
  6. When baked, let the cake cool.
  7. Meanwhile, prepare the yema frosting. In a pan with low heat, combine in the condensed milk, egg yolks, evaporated milk, lemon extract and butter. Slowly whisk until a soft and runny yema is formed.
  8. Slice the cake in half, crosswise. Remove the top. Then spread some yema frosting. Put back in the top part of the cake, returning it to its original shape. Then cover the entire cake with yema frosting.
  9. Finally, sprinkle some grated cheese on top.

You can chill it before serving. Enjoy!
